1. Wash after main meals

The secret of well-kept teeth and fresh breath is regular brushing. Not to say that you should brush your teeth sixteen times a day, as you would rather harm your gums and tooth enamel, but after a main meal, a thorough cleaning would not hurt. Of course, those with dental disease or braces are the exceptions: they are recommended to brush their teeth several times a day, up to four times a day. It is important that you do not use too hard a toothbrush as this may damage your gums.

2. Listen to the movements

It does matter how you brush your teeth. Go from your gum to the edge of your teeth, clean it in a circular motion. Be careful not to press the toothbrush firmly against your teeth to avoid damaging your gums.

3. Replace your toothbrush frequently

No matter how much you cling to your toothbrush, quarterly replacement is a good idea. In this case, the brush strands are no longer hygienic. The same applies to electric or battery powered toothbrushes, and their heads should be changed every three months or earlier.

4. Small, big or medium?

You must have already seen in drugstores the variety of toothbrushes available. There are larger, medium and smaller head brushes with soft and hard fiber strength. According to dentists, a toothbrush is the best because it easily accesses the outer and inner surfaces of all teeth. Replace a hard toothbrush with a soft toothbrush to avoid gum bleeding and gum injuries.

5. Mouthwash and floss

Most people do not use dental floss because they prefer to set it aside over time-consuming and lengthy wandering. However, at least once a day, preferably before going to bed, it is advisable to use dental floss - this will allow you to get into places where your toothbrush is not.
